What I've been thinking about lately.

Hello out there. How are you? It's been a little while. Recently, I have been very busy. Doing what, you ask? Well, working, playing, babysitting five children, visiting home, getting the flu from my dear family (thanks a lot) and working on my mission papers...

------------WHAT??!---

Yes. You read correctly. I'm going on a mission. And I'm almost done with my papers! Most of the time I can't believe I'm really going. But I'm so grateful for the wonderful opportunity to go out somewhere and show my Heavenly Father and the world how much I love this gospel. And hopefully help to bring some more people to the truth.

Some details: The plan is to leave around November. And some recent developments that I am SUPER excited about, I don't have to get my wisdom teeth out!! Yep. I went home to go to my orthodontist and he said I could keep them. Bless that man. I am so relieved. You have no idea how anxioius and scared I was about that little procedure.

Anyway, I will definitely keep you updated on the mission news. And if you ask, I have no idea where I think I'm going to go. But if I could choose, it would be Hawaii or Ireland. But, if Tucker and Michelle are right, I'll be going stateside, probably to a visitor's center... ha.

Also, I had a dream last night that I was in Star Wars. I had to fight Darth Vader with a light saber, while I was on one of those speeder bikes that the storm troopers ride in the sixth episode with the Ewoks. I was trying to save my friends, Luke, and Leia, and Han from being killed by Vader. I won.
Of course.

Go toast some bread.

This is really cool.

I found this little jewel one day at work. It was an advertisement on my Pandora or my email or something. But it looked interesting and so I clicked on it. At first, I thought the project was really to do something creative with a real piece of bread. (which I now want to think about and do something with. maybe. that might get a little gross, due to mold...) Anyway, it turned out to be a lot easier! This is a really cool and enjoyable fundraiser. The Grain Foods Foundation is trying to increase awareness of the growing hunger problem in our country. They have already donated $50,000. And for every piece of bread art that is made, they will donate an additional $1 (up to a max. donation of $100,000) to Share Our Strength (the leading national organization trying to end childhood hunger in America). Right now, the total donations is $46,946, so we still have 3054 more piece of Bread Art to make! All you have to do is:

1. Click on the link below.

2. Look around the 'gallery'. Read the Information at the info desk so that you know what you are helping.

3. Then click on Workshops and take the elevator to the studio, where you can make your very own bread art!!

It fun and easy and it's another cool way to exercise and share your creativity!
Tell your friends!!

the wildlife of provo.

Ok. Something super crazy just happened! Missy, Hannah and I were outside our apartment building, laying on the grass eating guacamole at precisely 1 am. Hannah went inside to go to bed, and a few minutes later Missy went inside. I was about to go inside myself when I saw a dark shadow over by the fence out of the corner of my eye. At first I thought it was the weird, ugly cat that is around all of the time with the puff of fur on the end of its tail, but it was a lot bigger than a cat. So I sat up and saw that is was the biggest raccoon I have seen in my life! And it was less than twenty feet away from me!
I watched it walk to the end of the driveway, stop to look for cars (a very safe raccoon) and then casually cross the street. It was amazing.
How many people out there can say they have seen a raccoon in Provo?? Really? I am so happy right now. That was so cool.
And here are a few cool facts about raccoons:
-they are omnivores, eating almost anything like fish, fruit, mice, eggs, insects and human trash.
-they are nocturnal.
-females have one to seven cubs every summer.
-they can grow to weigh 4 to 23 lbs., and be about 24 to 38 inches long
-and they live to be about two or three years old

Raccoons are cool!
